The Movement Lafayette offers private sessions in Pilates (Reformer and Mat), Yoga, Stretch, and Cycle. Private Sessions offer a workout tailored to your personal needs with in-depth instruction, hands on assistance, and a detailed analysis of your movement potential. Private Sessions are a great way to quickly increase your body knowledge, to find your most efficient and effective coordination for improving muscle tone and flexibility, and to ultimately get the fastest results out of your exercise program. Private Sessions are also a recommended starting place if you are new to an exercise program.
There's no muscle that can't be strengthened or stretched on the reformer. Through this personalized session the instructor will be able to identify muscular imbalances, postural deviations, and default movement patterns. Whether you’re new to Pilates or have been practicing for years, a 1-on-1 or 2-on-1 session will benefit you in countless ways! In just one session, you will experience how to finely tune your body and alignment. Alone or bring a friend!
Pilates? I thought you said Pie and Lattes! All laughs aside…In this 60-minute class you will get a total-body workout that will improve flexibility, build strength, and develop control and endurance. You will experience controlled movements focusing on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core while improving coordination and balance. It allows for different exercises to be modified in the range of difficulty from beginner to advanced.
Stretch time: sadly, is often the activity we skip out on the most, whether it’s the cooldown after class, or not at all. Guilty? Yeah, us too. After an intense, sweat-inducing class, heading out for a 5-minute head start can be majorly tempting! While stretching may not be the most exciting activity on the menu when it comes to exercise, it’s actually one of the most important factors in reaching our fitness goals. One, Two, or Six...let's stretch!
Explore the fundamentals of a flowing yoga practice as well as traditional poses, pranayama (breathing techniques) and yoga history / philosophy. You’ll challenge yourself as you work at your own level in a safe and supportive environment. Modifications will be offered as you practice each pose.
